We are proud to confirm once again that all Bakkoura watches are SWISS MADE.
Swiss made - what does it mean and which watches have the right to be called so?
It is important that only wrist watches whose length or diameter of movement does not exceed 60 mm and whose thickness is 14 mm are legally regulated and controlled. And it must be exactly a watch, that is, the main task is to measure time, not a million other possible options. The rules were tightened on January 1, 2017.
The brand is allowed to specify SWISS Made if:
- The technical development of the watch took place in Switzerland. If we're talking about a smart watch, the software must have been created in Switzerland.
- They have a Swiss movement. This means that it is assembled from Swiss parts, and a part is considered Swiss if it was tested by a manufacturer in Switzerland and at least 60% of the production costs were made in Switzerland.
- The movement has been cased up in Switzerland: all its component parts must have been assembled in Switzerland. For mechanical movements, only the gear train may be pre-assembled abroad.
- The same goes for the component parts. For example, a watch case is considered Swiss if at least one essential production operation took place in Switzerland (stamping, machining or polishing), it was assembled in Switzerland, tested in Switzerland, and at least 60% of the production costs were made in Switzerland.
- The final testing has been done in Switzerland;
If these conditions are met, the watch can be labeled Swiss Made.
